We are hiring an Integration Architect.

Reporting to the Lead Architect for SOA and EAI, the Integration Architect is responsible for technical oversight of enterprise integration initiatives within Shoppers Drug Mart. As a technical authority, they will have the responsibility to define the application and integration standards for the organization and guide project teams in their implementation. They will provide expertise and oversight over application and integration development activities during the project delivery lifecycle, ensuring that internal and external teams conform to the architecture and to the enterprise architecture standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Understand and augment the application and integration architecture standards and reference models.
* Analyze the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
* Analyze technology industry and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
* "Sell" the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results.
* Help to define the principles to guide enterprise integration decisions for the enterprise.
* Oversee the implementation of solutions and enforce the use of EAI standards for all integration between applications.
* Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards, as well as the design of standard software configurations.
* Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to align systems or infrastructure to the defined architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.
* Document all architecture design and analysis work.
* Work closely with the enterprise program management office (PMO) or project office to ensure alignment of plans with what is being delivered.
* Ensure proper visibility and traceability technical decisions.
* Perform as the solution architect on solutions with a heavy application or integration focus, under the direction of the Portfolio Architect.
* Work closely with IT Engineering and vendor implementation teams to provide technical direction and oversight throughout the lifecycle of project delivery.

Skills and Experience:

* Seven or more years of experience in integration architecture using multiple integration technology and technology platforms.
* Deep knowledge of integration architecture patterns.
* Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture.
* Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies.
* Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems.
* Experience implementing solutions using various integration SOA middleware technology products.
* Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, and processing environments.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Excellent analytical and technical skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
* Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
* Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
