Become our Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Service Librarian with in SOA team to participate in the service life cycle management and delivery of SOA services through the use of Service Registry and Repository to register, manage and govern SOA services.

Shoppers Drug Mart has implemented Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) strategy and growing in SOA space via implementing SOA solutions and services to transform business.

We are hiring a Service Librarian.

Reporting to the SOA Application Portfolio Manager, the incumbent is the gatekeeper of the organization’s SOA services, service metadata, leveraging existing service registry and repositories. The Service Librarian augments asset repositories with service appropriate metadata and search capabilities. They also help create and assist with enforcing the organizational discipline necessary for populating the repository. The Incumbent should be a team player, self-starter who thrives to understand the end-to-end vision and possesses strengths in envisioning a business issue/challenge into a technical solution.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Act as the custodian of SOA Services and related metadata
* Creates, manages and maintains services repositories using a service registry
* Performs Service lifecycle governance using Service Registry and Repository
* Assists with the enforcement of organizational discipline, leveraging the capabilities of Service Registry and Repository
* Sets up and enforces policies, processes and SLAa related to services within the tool to enable automated enforcement
* Clearly defines the service provider and consumers to enable automated impact analysis for a service change
* Understands and adheres to existing SOA standards, processes, best practices and contributes to continuous improvements and enhancements of the same
* Participates in technical meetings related to Service Requirements, Design and Maintenance with architecture team, analysts and development and production support Vendors
* Maintains requirements, design and other relevant documentation on existing services
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Education:

* At least 2 years of experience in managing services using any service registry and repository (UDDI, IBM, Oracle and others)
* Understanding of services architecture, messaging (SOAP, REST), service policy and SLAs
* Experience in service lifecycle and repository management in a medium / large organization
* Understand SOA concepts, design patterns, tools, techniques, best practices and the ability to establish a SOA environment
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Including ability to work with all management levels
* Ability to share technical knowledge and clearly communicate service oriented concepts.
* Must have high integrity and accountability, willing to do what it takes to make the team successful
* Proven ability to manage priorities and timelines
* Must be extremely responsive, able to work under pressure in crisis with a strong sense of urgency

Nice to Have

* Experience/exposure to WebSphere Registry and Repository (WSRR) based service management is a plus
* Responsible, conscientious, organized, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
* Detail oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills
* Experience in IT from a retail perspective a plus
* Understanding of SOA monitoring related to WSRR using ITCAM for SOA is a plus
* Experience/exposure Websphere Message Broker, MQ, DataPower, WSRR) or Orcale SOA suite is plus
