JOB DESCRIPTION:

Basic Function:

The GTA Depot manager is accountable to provide overall leadership and day to day management for the GTA depot for Shoppers Home Health Care. This position is responsible for the Service, Rental, Delivery, Customer Contact, Logistics and responsible to ensure employees are adhering to and are in compliance with the required legislation and health and safety standards. 

Nature and Scope:

The GTA Depot manager is responsible for the overall success of our service, repairs, and installation, customer support center, warehouse and fulfillment operations for the GTA through the accurate, and safe, receipt, processing, storage, retrieval, and timely distribution of customer products. This role is focused on providing both internal and external SHHC clients a high level of service by exceeding customer service levels, quality, maintaining inventory accuracy, order processing, picking, warehouse process/procedures, task-prioritization and staff leadership.

This leader is accountable to design, develop and implement processes that drive profitability, enhance margins and reduce costs including the management of labour, space and inventory while maintaining a highly engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing, planning, assigning, and directing work, team leads and hourly employees.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity objectives are met
  • Foster an environment of continuous development for all employees by executing training and development initiatives that drive efficiency and improvements.
  • Drive and manage employee engagement and performance management of staff
  • Overseeing service, repairs,  inventories, monitoring and processing orders
  • Responsible to address and resolve customer escalation issues
  • Provides training on SOPs, as well as ongoing coaching for supervisors and hourly employees when questions or problems arise.
  • Responsible for the development of and ongoing recommendations for warehouse design by planning layout, product flow and product handling; evaluating and recommending improvements
  • Measures and delivery Key Performance Indicators ( KPIs) of depot productivity and determines/implements improvement opportunities
  • Troubleshoots any issues that arise within the given departments.
  • Produces regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Implements procedural changes and process enhancements as needed to increase productivity.
  • Develops supervisors and team leads by identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains and hold the supervisory team accountable to maintaining warehouse cleanliness and associated safety.
  • Administers and applies all policies and procedures directed by other departments such as Human Resources, Health and Safety and Loss Prevention.
  • Accountable to building a culture that exhibits a high-level of professionalism among personnel which ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met, and take responsibility for the overall security of the building and goods.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Assists other areas of operation outside of primary departments as needed.
  • Responsible for 2 supervisors and thirteen hourly employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of professional experience
  • 3 plus years operations, customer service experience
  • Previous management and supervisory experience
  • Strong oral and written communication, problem solving, active listening  and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and employees
  • Proven track record of taking initiative to delivering process improvement and productivity results as a leaders
  • Experience in managing KPI’s for cost productivity and quality
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft office
  • Self-starter

WORK HOURS:

Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
